Claims are grouped according to payer. They can be further categorized by alphabetical groups, inpatient or outpatient according to the individual billing department's requirements. Maintenance screens are based on familiar UB and HC1500 claim forms reducing the learning time needed to use NGBill efficiently. HCPC/ICD-9 code combinations published in the Medicare Bulletins as medically approved, are contained in the database. This database is used to flag the non-approved codes that will be the basis of a claims rejection by Medicare. By identifying claims with non-approved codes, they can be corrected prior to submission and reduce the time cycle for payment. After "cleaning up" the claims, you prepare billing batches for electronic transmission to payers. Electronic transmission of claims, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) saves time. |
